Erin Cotter
Registered Educational Psychologist
Specialising in working with children, teenagers and their whanau, Erin believes in using a strengths based approach to assessment. Working with the child at the centre of the assessment process, Erin collaborates with whanau, school and other services to ensure the child’s needs are understood.

Before becoming a psychologist Erin worked in various roles as an early childhood teacher and manager, play specialist, ECE project manager, and facilitator. As a psychologist she has worked at the Ministry of Education in the Intensive Wraparound Service. Currently, in addition to Think Psychology, Erin works as a psychologist within the DAP (Developmental Assessment Programme) team at Te Whatu Ora Hawke’s Bay, a multidisciplinary service focused on neurodevelopmental assessment.

Erin is a strong advocate for children and whanau, with a compassionate and strengths-based approach. With her experience in both the education and health sectors, Erin understands how the systems work, and is able to give guidance around different types of support that may be available.

Erin is based in Hastings and can travel as far south as Central Hawke's Bay, and as far north as Bayview.
