Our Services
A cognitive and/or educational assessment can help you to understand your child's strengths and needs. This information is incredibly helpful to create a shared understanding of your child's needs with school teams, and help inform next steps to support them at school and home.
While our assessments focus on cognitive and educational needs, we are also able to collaborate with local speech language therapists and occupational therapists, with your permission, if we feel their input is needed.
Our Process
All of our assessments are individualised, and focus on the child's area/s of need.
The main parts of all of our assessments are:
Discussion with parent/caregivers
Assessment
Parent/Caregiver
Feedback
The first step is to meet (in person, phone, or zoom) to discuss your concerns. Following this I will structure an assessment plan and contact you with timeframes and costs. Once this is confirmed we can proceed with the assessment.
The assessments can take place at your home, or we can discuss alternative locations such as your child's school. I will also speak to your child's teachers, and may observe them at school. Please see the FAQ page for more info.
Once we have completed the assessment I will write a report. We will then make a time to meet to discuss the assessment findings, and any recommendations. I can also feedback to your child if you would like, and we can discuss how this would look during the parent/caregiver feedback session.
